First Leg Completed

It's 9:30am here in South Africa and we're sitting in a cafe in Johannesburg Airport waiting for our connection to Kasane.  Our flight was nearly an hour late leaving Heathrow but that's OK for us as we have a 4 hour lay over.

The flight itself was fine but we were considerably unimpressed with BA's Premium Economy when comparing it to Virgin's.  We were talking to the lady at the check in desk about BA requiring £40 to reserve a seat when you've already paid a considerable sum and she thinks they're turning into Easy Jet with charges for this, that and the other.  Daft thing is on other hand they allow a whopping 2 x 23kg hand luggage allowance (subject to size restriction) which must push up their fuel costs.  The food was delicious but because we'd pre-ordered our meal we'd actually finished by the time the drinks and rolls came round and cheese and biscuits were taken off the menu in July apparently.  Still the hostess very kindly brought me another Chicken Tikka as I was starving.

I'm glad we're not staying in South Africa as judging from the airport shops most animals have been killed already and their skins are on sale - yuk!
